Joey

Woof woof! I’m Amigo, a pretty special pug, and that’s my little brother in the yellow portrait, Joey. We used to live far away in India, but now we live in a fabulous city called Tallinn in Estonia with our incredible human, Tanvi. She says we’re family, and we agree! Moving to a place with so much snow was a big adventure.

I used to be a show dog, you know! My grandpa was a show dog from Latvia, and I guess I got his “show dog personality.” I’m not scared of much. I love getting brushed and pampered and can wait patiently for my dinner. Before I came to live with Tanvi, I lived with 20 other pugs. She often jokes that I’m more like a human than a dog. I think it’s because I’ve always been around many people.

Brave Little Guy

I lived with Tanvi alone until Joey arrived. Ah, Joey. His start in life wasn’t easy. He lost all his brothers and sisters, and his mom wasn’t very nice to him. He was a tiny, weak puppy with wobbly legs. He even had a bad lung condition called pneumonia. It’s sad to think about. But then, Tanvi came into his life! She rescued, cared for, and brought him home to live with me.

I had Tanvi all to myself, and then this little guy was suddenly here. I worried he’d steal my toys or eat my food, but Joey is so funny and energetic that I couldn’t help but love him. Now, we’re best friends. We play, nap, and do all sorts of things together. It’s great to snuggle up with Joey when it’s snowy outside. Joey loves the snow, but I prefer staying warm indoors.

Our Amazing Human

Tanvi, Amigo, & Joey

Tanvi is the best! She takes us on the most amazing adventures. We love going to the park, where Joey runs around like crazy in the snow, chasing balls. In the summer, we go biking, and Joey runs right alongside us. Tanvi says Estonia is super pet-friendly, and she’s right! We ride on buses, go to the store, and even travel on airplanes with her. We even flew all the way here in an airplane with Tanvi. It was so different from our old life.

Tanvi says having us in her life makes her happy. Even when things are hard, we remind her to enjoy the simple stuff, like a game of fetch, a belly rub, or a cuddle. We help her stay positive and enjoy life like we do. Who can resist a happy dog with a wagging tail? 😉

A Peaceful Paradise

Living in Estonia is a significant change from living in India, where we used to live. There’s a lot of snow here, and it gets very cold, but we’ve learned to love it. The people are kind, and they always greet us with a smile. We feel safe and welcomed here, and we’re so grateful to Tanvi for bringing us to this wonderful place. The air is clean, the streets are secure, and many parks exist for us to explore. It’s a true paradise.

Joey is a very confident and playful dog now. He loves digging in the snow and chasing his toys. Although he still gets a little worried about food sometimes, he’s learning that he’s always safe and will be fed by Tanvi. He’s come so far from the little, scared puppy he used to be.

As for me, I’m getting older now. I’m almost 11, and my joints sometimes ache a bit. But I still like walking in the park and always love a good treat. Mostly, I want to take it easy. I watch what’s happening and share my thoughts with Tanvi and Joey. I’m not scared of anything, and I love getting groomed and waiting patiently for my food. I prefer staying warm inside, where I can curl up by the fireplace.

Forever Grateful

We’re so lucky to have Tanvi. She’s been there for us no matter what, and we know she loves us; we love her just as much! We’re also happy to live in Estonia. It’s a beautiful, peaceful country, and we’ve made many friends, both people and dogs. Everyone loves animals here, and we’re glad to be part of this friendly place.

Our story is about love, friendship, and enjoying the simple things in life. We wouldn’t trade it for anything. Woof!

Epilogue

Joey is an eight-year-old male chug (a cross between a chihuahua and a pug), whereas Amigo is a male pug between ten and eleven years old.

Tanvi is a professional psychologist with a lifelong love for animals. Growing up in the Middle East, she got her first dog at six and soon became the kind of person who couldn’t resist bringing stray cats and dogs home.

Over the years, her love for animals extended beyond dogs, despite living in a region that wasn’t mainly pet-friendly at the time. She cared for cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and turtles.

Life took her across multiple countries, but one thing remained constant: her dogs permanently moved with her. Now, in Estonia, the fourth country she has called home with her loyal companions, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
